Cane is dry and splits well.Some twisting but manageable.
Basically at the beginning stage of my process.
Once I make my first chanter cane reed I will then know better how it performs.It will be a learning curve .
Any more information you can supply on your selection process would be well received.

Although very pleased with the quality of your reed, I was not happy at having to pay 13 euros in customs charges to my local post office. Maybe you can find a way around this.

Spare the knife

Using a flat metal plaque can blunt your knife and also cause the reed to break because it is too flat. The convex ebony plaque solves both problems.

Have tried it a couple of times. Appears to do exactly what it claims - is very comfortable, easy to assemble and takes some of the strain off my thumb, hand and wrist, without getting in the way.
