Reviews Policy

Last updated 1 September 2026.

Reviews are how most people decide whether a reed is right for them, so ours need to be worth trusting. This page explains how they work.

Where our reviews come from

Product reviews on crookandstaple.com are collected and published through Judge.me. They come from people who have bought the product from us — we invite you to review by email after your order has been delivered, and reviews from a verified purchase are marked as such.

What we do not do

  • We do not write reviews of our own products.
  • We do not buy reviews, and we do not pay, discount or reward anyone for leaving one.
  • We do not ask for a particular rating, and we do not offer anything in exchange for a positive one.
  • We do not remove a review simply because it is critical.
  • We do not filter or hide reviews by rating.

When we will remove a review

We will take a review down if it is abusive or offensive, if it contains someone's personal information, if it is not actually about the product, if it is spam or an advertisement, or if we have good reason to believe it is not based on a genuine purchase and experience.

Reviews we can put in context

Cane is a natural material, and reeds vary. Sometimes a review reflects a preference rather than a fault — a reed that suits one player will feel too hard or too soft to another. Where that is useful to say, we may reply to a review publicly with an explanation or some advice. We will not edit what you wrote.

Telling us about a review

If you think a review on our site is not genuine, or should not be there, email sales@crookandstaple.com with a link to it and we will look into it.

If you have a problem with a product, please contact us directly as well as, or instead of, leaving a review — we can usually help.

These are the steps we take to keep reviews genuine, as UK consumer law requires.
